YEAR 9
This term, the students explored the application of Pythagoras' theorem to calculate side lengths as well as angles in a right angled triangle.
Students then moved on to applying trigonometry to given diagrams as well as problem solving questions.
Students also applied their knowledge to solve problems involving bearings.
YEAR 10
This term the students worked on probability. The students learnt how to calculate relative frequencies to estimate probabilities of simple and compound events.
Students used this knowledge to then describe and calculate probabilities in multi-step chance experiments. Students further consolidated their learning by learning single variable and bivariate statistics.
Students used statistical displays to compare sets of data to evaluate statistical claims made in the questions.
