Year 8 Science Term 3 2022

Asalamu Alaikum respected parents, guardians, and students at Irfan college,

It has been an inspiring third term with Year 8 Science studying the topic ‘Allah’s perfect design’. Our resilient scientists ploughed through and accomplished amazing feats.

Together we have explored the hierarchy of living livings from the cellular level all the way up to the complex systems involved in maintaining functional organism. We also viewed specimens under the microscope and learnt how to correctly draw scientific diagrams of various animal and plant cells.

Alhumdulilah, we have shared many wonderful experiences this term. Some of our highlights include:

•             Microscopy

•             Superhero cell organelles

•             Making cell models

•             Science Week 2022 escape room:  Breaking Glass news

•             Using Stile to actively engage and assess learning throughout the term.

MashaAllah, I commend all the year 8 students for their brilliant efforts in completing their research multimedia assessment task and reflective essay on Allah's Perfect Design to a very high standard. I also applaud year 8 for their weekly persistence in completing assigned work.

Lastly, I would like to thank all of our endearing parents and/or caregivers for their support in this learning journey we have tackled together.
