Year 6 T2 2019

Posted by Mohammed Odeh on 5 July 2019

Term 2 has come to an end and Alhamdulillah it was a very successful and blessed term.
6M were taken back in time, exploring the History of Australia from both an English and Aboriginal perspective. It was very enlightening for the students as they explored the White Australian Policy, the Stolen Generation and Civil Rights on a deeper level as the content was integrated into English.
It was great to see how students were impacted by the historical events in Australia as they debated their views and wrote remarkable speeches personifying characters from their focus text 'Follow the Rabbit-Proof Fence.
Science was such a fun and engaging experience as students explored the topic 'Material World'. Students investigated properties of materials and the way in which they are combined and separated through various experiments. Student also thoroughly enjoyed building bridges in their groups, testing their strength and determining which materials and design structures were best to use.
To enhance students' exploration of the 'Material World' Year 5 and 6 embarked on an exciting excursion to 'Science Space' in Wollongong. Students were barely able to contain their eagerness as they engaged in activities which allowed students to further investigate and explore the concepts taught in Science this Semester.
Alhamdulillah it has been a very enjoyable and blessed term as we farewelled Ramadan and welcomed Eid. Inshallah Term 3 is as prosperous and engaging as this term was.
