What a wonderful start we have had to the year, Alhamdulillah!
This term our year 6's have been learning about the unit 'Food and Fibre'. Students have had the opportunity to find out where all of our food comes from and the process it goes through to get from paddock (farms) to our plates. We grew our own plants in the school permaculture garden, which we will eventually harvest and create a salad from (inshallah). For English this term, we tried to focus on our fluency in reading so we had small groups and whole-class groups of modelled and shared reading. Mashallah, the students have since picked up with their fluency. For Geography we brushed up on our knowledge of Asian countries around the world and created our own informative PowerPoints on which Asian country would be the best to visit in terms of food, touristic site to see and culture. Alhamdulillah, I can proudly say we had a very productive and fruitful term, and inshallah the remaining three terms of the year are just as good as this one.
May you all have a lovely holiday inshallah, stay safe everyone.
