Year Five have welcomed the return to the classroom, enjoying some hands-on art and craft tasks.
In Visual Arts, Year Five have explored Aboriginal and Islamic artworks that represent Aboriginal traditions of storytelling using the dreamtime stories. This learning has then been compared with Islamic artistry, using Venn diagrams and brainstorms.
Students in Year Five have had the opportunity to demonstrate this learning by applying some of the concepts learnt about Islamic artworks and then creating their own piece of Islamic art. This has been achieved by using geometrical shapes and having them tessellate to form a piece of Islamic art.
