Year 5 has had a wonderful term to wrap up the year.
The transition for our students from online learning to face to face learning was smooth, Alhamdulillah. Students were able to pick up their pace immediately and get back into some fun, hands on learning. In Science, Year 5 students learnt how to code using the Sphere Bolt which provided endless opportunities for students to have fun while learning as well.
Students have also been learning about mixtures and substances during science lessons. Year 5 made their very own soap mixing a variety of ingredients such as soap base, essentials oils, fresh flowers and herbs together. This was definitely a highlight to take home to show their family members.
During Physical Education lessons, students have been focusing on learning about the importance of Indigenous games. Mr Vanburn kindly instructed the sports lesson for our Year 5 class where they had a variety of circuits running all focusing on different Aboriginal games.
We wrapped up the year with a fun role-play week where students worked together in groups to write a script, come up with a meaningful message, prepare props and costumes and present their role-play to their class members. This was definitely something the Year 5 students will remember. I would like to wish you all a safe and healthy holiday.
I look forward to Year 5 becoming our new Year 6 cohort and wish you all the best for your future endeavours!
