This term has flown by much quicker than anticipated for our Year 4 class. We have been involved in a variety of engaging learning opportunities in all Key Learning Areas. We started of the term by making a poppy wreath which was laid during our ANZAC day commemoration assembly.
In science, we focused on Materials and their properties. The students explored the school environment searching and analyzing natural and processed materials. We also investigated the properties of plastic and the harmful effects it can have on the environment. We discussed better alternatives of plastic such as Bioplastic and had the opportunity to make a sample of Bioplastic in class as part of our science project.
As part of the "First Fleet" History unit, our excursion to the Museum of Sydney was a highlight for this term. The students participated in the program "Whose Place" which summarised all topics covered throughout the term . We were amazed to learn that the Museum is built over the site of first Government House from where Arthur Philip governed the young colony of NSW. I am extremely proud of our students as they showed a lot of knowledge actively participating in the various activities the program had to offer.
This is it from us for this term, I wish everyone a safe and a relaxing break and looking forward to another productive term inshAllah.
