Modelled reading lessons were based on the novel 'The Twits' by Roald Dahl. Students were able to appreciate the author's inventiveness and creativity. Students also continued to read a variety of their own texts to practise their recall, retrieval and inferential skills.
In writing lessons, students were able to use appropriate adjectives, verbs and adverbs to create atmosphere in their writing. They also described and showed the feelings of their characters. Students explored adventurous vocabulary and practised proofreading to check for mistakes and edit their work independently. In PE, students learned the skills necessary to play a game of Basketball. We practised our throwing, catching, dribbling, attacking and defending skills as well as agility, coordination and teamwork awareness. 3B was also lucky enough to be mentored by Mr Vanburn and the year 12 students as they taught students various skills such as endurance, balance, coordination and speed.
3B also enjoyed the Snapology coding incursion as they were actively engaged in hands-on and interactive learning activities exploring the topic Space Robotics.Overall, it's been a jam-packed wonderful term! I hope 3B have a lovely two-week break.
