This term Year 3 have been learning about different celebrations and commemorations from around the world and why they are important. This exploration has opened their eyes to other cultures and helped to promote respect towards other beliefs and traditions. Students were most fascinated about the events leading up to National Sorry Day as they begin to consider different viewpoints and connect with the Sorry Day message. The excursion to the Australian museum allowed students to learn first hand from an Aboriginal educator. Students had a great day exploring the museum and learnt lots of new information about the Aboriginal culture.
