3B has had a very busy term 2 after transitioning from online learning back to the classroom. It is great to be back at school! This term students explored and learned about persuasive writing, poetry, vocabulary development, phonological awareness and took part in explicit small group teaching and role plays. We also focused on guided reading allowing all students to benefit from small group instruction tailored to meet their stage of development. Guided reading is an instructional approach that involves the teacher working with a small group of students. The teacher coaches the students as they use the 'Super Six' comprehension strategies. The 'Super Six' framework focuses on working with making connections, monitoring, visualising, inferring/predicting, questioning and summarising. I hope the students read plenty of books during their term 2 break!
