This term, the students began with revision of linear relationships with an added emphasis on recognising direct and indirect proportion, and solving problems involving direct proportion.
The students then moved on to properties of geometrical figures in which the students described and applied the properties of similar figures and scale drawings. Students were also taught to calculate the angle sum of any polygon and the minimum conditions required to prove two triangles are congruent or similar.
Finally, the students progressed to right-angled triangles whereby they were able to revisit the Pythagoras' theorem and use it to find the unknown lengths of a right angled triangle.
Students also learnt about the applications of right angled triangles including construction of buildings and navigation.
