YEAR 11
This term, the students worked on relative frequency and probability.
This topic developed their awareness of the broad range of applications of probability concepts in their everyday life and their use in decision-making.
The students then moved on to the topic of perimeter, area and volume. Students generally enjoyed this topic as it allows them to develop their abstract thinking skills which has an abundant amount of real life applications.
YEAR 12
The students developed their understanding of non-linear functions and how they can be used to model and solve a range of practical problems.
Students were able to graph and recognise parabolas, exponential and reciprocal functions. The students then moved on to the topic of normal distribution.
This topic developed their understanding of the properties of the normal distribution and how it can be used to analyse data and make judgements about the reasonableness of a solution.
