We have had a productive term in Turkish where all students were given opportunities to enjoy learning Turkish and develop Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing skills.
In Year 7, students learnt different ways to meet and greet people through role play activities with given scenarios. They also learnt about the importance of family in Turkish culture. Students really enjoyed playing Turkish board games where they had to speak and ask the questions in Turkish. Year 8 students particularly enjoyed learning about different cities of Turkey. They were able to compare the cities to Australian cities. In Year 9, students compared the ways people communicated in the past and now in present times. Researching forms of communication in the Ottoman era was an area of interest for the students. Year 10 students have developed their research and writing skills this term. They were able to conduct research on significant people in Turkish history who continue to inspire us today.
