Last week Thursday we had the honour of hosting a list of parliamentary, consular and council dignitaries, and numerous community leaders for the official opening ceremony of our first permanent building. We had the pleasure of hosting the NSW Minister for Education Hon. Rob Stokes, Member for Mulgoa Hon. Tanya Davies, Shadow Minister for Education Mr Jihad Dib, Chief Opposition Whip Hon. Chris Hayes, Fairfield City Council Mayor Frank Carbone, Association of Independent Schools NSW COO Mr Michael Carr, Member for Granville Hon. Julia Finn, Turkish Consul-General Republic of Turkey Sydney Mr Melih Karalar, Ilim College Board Chair Mr Hasan Guresen, Centre for Islamic Thought and Education Director Prof. Mohamad Abdalla, and numerous other community leaders.
The program commenced with welcome speeches followed by the revealing of the plaque and cutting of the ribbon. The program was then followed by parliamentary addresses, student speeches and lunch.
We thank all those who accepted our invite amongst their busy schedules and attended the ceremony, and most importantly our parent body who has been supporting the vision and growth of our College community since our inception!
