Commerce Term 3 2022

Assalamu Alaykum Dear Parents and Students,

This term in Commerce, we covered a third core topic titled ‘Law, Society and Political Involvement’. Throughout the topic students explored various ideas and concepts relating to the Australian Legal system and developed their understanding of how a range of laws affect individuals and groups and how these laws are implemented to regulate society. We further explored the democratic process and how individuals and groups participate within various legal and political systems. Students learnt how different strategies are used to resolve contentious legal and political issues and were able to apply these skills in the end of term assessment tasks. It has been a term filled with challenging questions where we often resorted to in class debates to reach our own conclusions about the contentious issues we face as a society today, however it has all helped build awareness and knowledge about our rights and responsibilities within the Australian legal system which we can continue to build upon next term insha’Allah.
