Students VS Staff Soccer Match

Posted on 16 July 2020

On the last day of Term 2, Irfan College held its Staff vs Students  Soccer match on the school oval.
The students team consisted of our senior boys, Year 11, and the staff team included the likes of our star signing Mr Mustafa and on debut we had Mr Aladdin taking the field.
The crowd of students were flocking onto the oval in eager anticipation to watch the match.
With Mr Ayman as the referee for the match, we knew it would be officiated fairly.
As the match begun, the start was a tight hustle to control possession with no real chances early on.
Mid way towards the match, a penalty was awarded for the staff team.
Mr Ahmet stepped up and nailed the penalty to give the lead to the staff.
Following that goal, it got worse for the students.
Ismail Sen missed a close range goal with Mr Said's goalkeeping skills on display.
With the staff gaining confidence with dominance of possession and an unbreakable defensive line consisting of Mr Ozan and Mr Halil, FOUR more goals were scored for the staff team.
Mr Ahmet was awarded the man of the match following his brilliant 5 goals.
It was a great way to end the Term for Irfan College students and staff.
We pray you all have a restful and enjoyable break Inshallah.
Mr Said Kabalan
PDHPE/Sports Coordinator
